Access and Equity Projects:
This is also supported by the City. Under this program SACEM is conducting awareness/culture sensitive programs from a multicultural perspective. The idea is to inform others about our Community, culture, traditions etc. that would go a long way in creating a positive and harmonious image of the Tamil community.

Building Bridges and Breaking Barriers Project:
Under this program, which is supported by the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, a series of focus groups are being held covering teens, adults and seniors. The purpose is to study the barriers to accessing services in the addiction field that are usually not culture sensitive and language specific.

Family violence prevention, and promoting harmony in families:
This project supported by the Ontario Women's Directorate is implementing a series of workshops and community forums on the theme of harmonious families and the causes and correlates of family violence.

Youth & Leadership Development Committee Presents “A Celebration of Youth Volunteerism”
Promotion of volunteerism as well as extension of support to volunteer organizations has been part of SACEM’s commitment and tradition for the past two decades. In keeping with our tradition, we present this special program, every year.

Drugs Prevention Program:
This project is supported by the City of Toronto. Group discussions and workshops are being held focusing on use of alcohol and other addictive substances. This is a prevention project. The project mainly focuses young. adults and teens.

Gambling Prevention Project:
This program is supported and carried out in partnership with COSTI, a community organization in Toronto. A series of focus groups covering teens, adult men and women, have been held and reports submitted. The purpose is to find out the extent of gambling problem in the community and the need for any preventive programs that can help people who habitually gamble.
